Description
Fir honey
“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food” Hippocrates
Fir honey, from fir trees (Abies cephallonica), is endemic to Greece and one of three species of fir found in the country.
Thick mountain honey of exceptional quality and limited production.
Rich in trace elements (potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron & sodium), it is particularly high in iron.
The forager bees collect the honeydew secretions from the fir tree. This results in a fairly thick honey with a wonderful taste.
A honey with high nutritional value.
In addition, fir honey has a dark red colour and a rich flavour.
It has natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, and is ideal for boosting the immune system.
Therefore, it contributes significantly to strengthening metabolism and the body's defences.
Scientifically proven to be one of the richest honeys in the world.
Because it is rich in minerals such as potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron and sodium, it contributes to the overall health of the body.
It can be consumed:
For breakfast: A spoonful of fir honey in yoghurt or cereal for a nutritious and tasty breakfast.
In beverages: Mix fir honey in hot water or tea (not exceeding 45°C) to reap its beneficial properties and strengthen the immune system.
As a snack: With bread, breadsticks, rice cakes, or crackers for a quick and energy-packed snack.
Or simply: Even a teaspoonful on an empty stomach in the morning helps the body to quickly absorb all of its beneficial ingredients.
Not recommended for infants under 12 months of age.
Store in a cool, shady place.
